2017 Orkney 592
This fabulous high specification Orkney Series II 592 is in fantastic condition and priced well below current list price for a new model. Since delivery in November 2017 she has been in storage for most of the time having logged only 24 hours of use due to unforeseen commitments. She is built to a premium specification incorporating some of the builder's most extravagant options taking her a good way towards the range topping Vanguard spec. From the extras list is; hull in Oxford blue with white boot top, antifouled red, bow fairleads, mid-ship cleats and fender eyes, auxiliary outboard bracket, transom bathing ladder, folding aft quarter seats, synthetic teak cockpit sole, foredeck anchor locker hatch, compass and switch panel, navigation lights, anchor light and staff, premium upholstery set in Diamante Indigo blue, folding dodger and cockpit tonneau both in premium grade Weathermax Sandstone, ensign, staff and socket, anchor, mooring warps and fenders. The Mercury 80hp ELPT efi outboard is the perfect motor for the craft attaining her maximum design speed of 27 knots. This smooth power unit has electric start, single lever control, power tilt and 50 litre fuel capacity stored beneath the cockpit sole.
Aside from the options listed above, standard equipment includes self-draining cockpit, bilge pump, battery and isolator in aft locker, ample storage lockers located in bow, beneath forward seating, within steering console and seat boxes. The spray hood was only fitted for the photograph, then removed and stored. The outboard has had its first service by the Mercury dealer. Also included as part of the package is a braked trailer, set up to Orkney recommendations with multi rollers and keel support rollers.
Orkney Boats are of course renowned for their excellent sea keeping qualities and independent reviews of this model are exceptional.

Big and powerful, the 592 is designed to run offshore in comfort. The Nelson heritage becomes apparent in the way the hull handles rough water with ease whilst the 27” interior freeboard and self draining cockpit add to the feeling of safety and security. There is the option of a folding dodger or GRP cuddy to keep the elements at bay. The purposeful steering console fitted with no feedback steering has plenty of space for electronics and useful stowage underneath. Elsewhere there is an abundance of locker space. Combining 27 knot performance, superb sea keeping and handling with stability both at rest and when underway the 592 is a market leader for this sized hull.
